Each year the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI) recognizes exemplary work within the planning profession. Awards acknowledge meritorious plans and projects, undertaken in whole or in part by members of the Institute, that significantly contribute to the livability of communities in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

On October 1, 2018, Aaron Aubin Consulting Inc., was presented an Award of Planning Merit for the City of Edmonton River Crossing Project, at the Annual APPI Conference in Kananaskis, Alberta.
